From the 1920s, a flapper dress in black crepe with lots of beading and fun fringe. We'll include a mostly modern, coordinating headpiece, as shown.

  • Generously beaded with art deco designs front and back
  • Satin trim around neckline and along edges of not-too-open, peek-a-boo, elbow-length sleeves
  • Fun fringe trims the skirt from the drop waist to the knee.
  • Fabric is substantial enough to be opaque without a slip
  • Closes along the top of the shoulders with snaps
  • Headpiece consists of modern beaded headband with feather + sparkly faux gem embellishment to clip wherever you please

Labels: none

Fiber/Care: crepe is probably rayon, as it's in strong, wearable condition with tell-tale "rayon" fading, but feels like silk / dry-clean

Condition: presents beautifully, strong and wearable (of course you'll want to be careful). few if any missing beads. some gentle fading to a very deep brown, but overall still jet black. the fringe may be a later addition, and the dress may have been taken up. strangely, there is some underarm fading under the right arm, but not the left. perhaps she held her drink in her left hand and kept her right arm at her side?

*This 20s flapper dress is clean and ready to wear.*

Garment Measurements:
(only the snaps closest to the neck currently open, as someone has taken a few stitches to secure the others closed. I had no trouble getting the dress on or off (even over leggings and t-shirt). I'm 117 lbs, 5'5.75", not petite or slight, and measure ~b36/w26/h36. If you're in that range, it should work find for you as is. To make it even easier, just snip the stitches and the snaps will be functional again)

 shoulders (slightly dropped): 16"/40.5cm
 sleeves: 11"/28cm (reach the elbow)
bust: 42"/106.5cm (remember it's meant to fit loosely)
 at the natural waist: 41"/104cm
at the top of the first row of fringe/hips: 40"/101.5cm
 length: 37"/94cm + 2"/5cm hem

Our items are not newly manufactured "vintage style" pieces. They are true vintage, at least 30 years old. Please read condition report provided above.

Covers lots of important topics
Format: Kindle
12 Universal Skills by Peter Scheele and Nina Bech-Andersen is one of those books that comes across as something that should be taught in a college level classroom. If I was going to rename the book, I would call it How to Work With People. This is a general skill that we never really learn much about, but so much of our lives both professionally and personally are based around this idea. Some of the topics included here are how to solve conflicts with others, how to manage your time, and how to work as part of a team. These are skills that we are expected to practice as we make our way through school, but are never truly taught to us making them areas of weakness that need to be addressed. If you are starting a career, just getting out of school, or are simply looking for ways to improve yourself then this is a a great read for you.

As a young professional just starting her career, this book is an excellent guide.
Format: Kindle
One of the things I appreciate most about this book is how it breaks down each skill into manageable and easy-to-understand sections. The author does an excellent job of explaining the skills clearly and concisely, providing real-world examples that help to bring each skill to life. The 12 skills covered in the book are wide-ranging and cover essential areas such as teamwork, networking, communication, and decision-making. Whether you are just starting your career or looking to improve your skills as a seasoned professional, I found that this book has something to offer. Another standout feature of this book is the practical tips and techniques. Overall, I highly recommend "12 Universal Skills: The Beginner's Guide to a Successful Work Life" for anyone looking to develop their professional skills. It is an excellent resource that can help you succeed in your career, and I believe that it will be particularly valuable to young professionals, like myself, just starting out. Soft skills

As a fresh graduate student from high school or even college and entering the workforce for the first time, soft skills such as communication, professionalism, team-building skills, and even how to handle conflict in the workplace, are sometimes hard to come by. This book will take you through 12 of the most essential skills you will need to be successful at work as well as your personal life. The two authors pooled their considerable work expertise and laid out the book in an easy to read and understand manner. I was able to really grasp what they were saying and what I needed to do in order to practice and develop my soft skills. A fantastic book for those starting out their careers!
